Personal Cinema; Ghostly

I will freely admit that I am deeply inspired of a deep love for Horror, Thriller, Mystery and the Fantastique both in fiction literature and in cinema. From my earliest years I was infatuated with monsters and creatures of the imagination. I would sneak out any chance I could get to catch the Late Night Movie or watch my favorite reporter Karl Kolchak unravel the latest monster mystery that would charge my imagination. I fell in love with writings of Lovecraft , Poe, Matheson, Bradbury, Stoker and from there finding a love for the writing of Stephen King, reading everything that I could get my hands on late into the night with rapt attention to every detail.

Personal Cinema; Stampede

It was early afternoon and the streets of Jezyce were very busy with cars, people, peddlers and in this area around the market, especially crazy and vibrant with activity. Luckily the traffic then on Dąbrowskiego was packed and backed up a bit from the ongoing construction to the street, so I could see that the tram was already on its way. I needed to move fast and began picking up the pace and navigating the sidewalk.

One of the images that is directly linked with my image “This Morning” is this one. This was actually an accident if you can believe it.

This was not ever going to see the light of day. When I looked back at this one after shooting one morning heading into work, I just didnt like it. The young man was in an odd spot and it didn’t move me so much, seeming so ordinary, plus I again hated the graffiti in the window and was not wanting to call attention to it.

In Review; August

From the very first day of August, the month proved to be a big one, filled with mostly warm, sunny days and all kinds of instances where discovering our new home here in Warszawa often meant playing the part of tourist while doing it and we often would voice our disbelief that this was actually our home and not someplace we were visiting.

July 2018. Warsaw July came and went so fast I feel like I didnt really get to enjoy it that much. But, when I look back at all of the images I shot…I would have to say that I really did enjoy it and in fact, I can easily say that I enjoyed the hell…
